Continental flat head firing order2/1/2024 ![]() ![]() Someone had taken all the spark plug wires off and even though the firing order for the engine is stamped on the head it still doesn't tell me what the order is off the top of the distributor I am told this motor should be the same as an old Jeep Flathead so could someone please tell me what the firing order is off the top of the distributor on a old Jeep flat and if by any chance somebody might know something about this old continental or this compressor I'd love to hear from you I'm beating my head against the wall on the poor thingįrom what I understand it's got a good chance of being pre-war and Worthington isn't even the same company anymore so they can't help me anyways thanks for all your help. 91 Flathead industrial motor that goes to a trailer air compressor a "Worthington 60" get information for this particular combination is ridiculous my biggest problem right now is the firing order ![]() I can think of 4 other series of Continental L-head (flathead) engines with different letters the B, N, M & Y models plus others in earlier time frames. One of the most common questions asked on our help line concerns the ignition timing on Continental F-162 and F-163 engines used on the Lincoln SA-200, SA-250, SA-300, and SA-400 welding machines. The F series was also made in several different 6 cylinder sizes. Includes distributor rotation and and cap configuration. I'm not sure if this should be an off-topic or not I've got an old Continental Y. Later the 162 became the 163, same bore and stroke diferent cranks blocks and heads. This EZ to read firing order for the Ford Flathead 1949-1953 series of engines. ![]()
